Orders

• Full payment must accompany your order.
• Confirmation of your order will be sent to you.
• Date of delivery will be confirmed.

Payments

• Payments are to be made via EFT to Dr. J U Pieper Practice Account Standard Bank 071090053.
• Any additional bank charges such as trans boarder transactions will be the client’s responsibility.

Prices

• Prices are subject to fluctuations in exchange rates, as DermLite and FotoFinder Systems have their manufacturing plants in the USA and Germany respectively and goods are all imported.

Delivery

• A courier fee will be charged, determined by the distance from the two hubs, Johannesburg and Cape Town.
• Cross-border deliveries may incur additional charges.
• Any changes made by the purchaser of the delivery address may incur additional charges.
• We cannot be held responsible for any delays caused by the courier company.
• Shipment insurance costs are covered by the supplier.
• Courier fees may increase without prior notice.
• Ownership of the products passes to the customer once full payment is received and the order has been delivered. Risk of loss or damage to the products should be insured against.

Returns and Refunds

• Any return must be approved by the supplier prior to its dispatch back to the supplier.
• Goods must be returned in their original condition: unused, in their original packaging, undamaged, and including all components.
• We regret that no refunds or exchanges will be offered on used items.
• Special order items cannot be cancelled or returned.
• If you receive a defective or damaged product, notify us within 2 days of delivery. We will arrange for the item to be collected and either repaired, replaced, or refunded, depending on the defect.

Warranty & Repairs

• Damage to items must be reported to us within two days of delivery.
• DermLite devices purchased after March 2023 carry a 5-year warranty from the date of purchase.
• A 2-year warranty applies to the following devices: DermLite HÜD, DermLite Foto, DermLite Foto II Pro, DermLite Foto X, DermLite Cam, and Syris® v900L.
• The DermLite warranty covers parts and will be honoured based on proper use of the device and adherence to operating instructions.
• During the warranty period, defects will be repaired if caused by defective materials or workmanship.
• The warranty does not cover loss, damage due to wear and tear, negligence, hard impacts, missing parts, liquid intrusion, 6V lithium batteries past 6 months, lithium rechargeable batteries beyond 1 year, scratched or chipped lenses, unauthorised repairs and improper cleaning techniques.
• DermLite IceCap disposable covers with any manufacturer defects will be replaced within 30 days of purchase.
• FotoFinder products are covered for 1 year or as specified at the time of sale.
• Third-party products, including cameras, are covered exclusively by the third-party manufacturer’s warranty.
• Some labour costs are not covered by the warranty.
• The client will be liable for labour costs on out-of-warranty repairs.
• The client will be responsible for the cost of parts not covered by the manufacturer’s warranty.
• The client will be responsible for courier fees or travel costs for out-of-warranty items.

• We can only provide reports for insurance purposes after in-person inspection or inspection at our repair facility.
• Repairs by any unauthorised provider will void the warranty.

Service

• No refunds are available on service fees and travel costs.

Limitation of Liability

• Our liability for any product sold is limited to the purchase price of that product. We are not responsible for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages or loss arising from the use or inability to use the product, even if advised of the possibility of such damages or losses.
• The use of any of our products is for the sole purpose of assisting the purchaser to make a diagnosis. It is explicitly recorded that DermLite and FotoFinder products are never sold as diagnostic devices.
• No liability, particularly medical liability, in whatever form, will be borne by DermLite of FotoFInder Systems or any of its duly appointed distributors or appointees, arising out of the use or mis-use of any of their products.

Governing Law

• These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of South Africa, and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of South Africa.
